Voice to text online

Say it, stop the recording, get the text.

Voice notes · Interviews · Lectures · TXT · DOCX · SRT

Record your voice in the browser on a computer or a phone and turn it into text with speaker labels and timestamps — speech to text online, without installing an app.

Good for voice notes, ideas you do not want to type, in-person interviews and short meetings.

Record first, transcribe afterwards

This is not live dictation: the text appears after you stop recording. You can listen to the recording before you send it.

  • Record in a quiet room and keep the microphone at the same distance.
  • Let one person speak at a time — the transcript is split by speaker.
  • Choose the recording language if you know it; it is faster than detection.
  • Long sessions are fine: pause between topics instead of starting a new recording.

What people record

  • Voice notes

Say an idea out loud and keep it as text.

  • In-person interviews

Put the phone on the table and get a transcript split by speaker.

  • Lectures and talks

Record from the audience and read it later.

  • Drafts and letters

Speak a first draft faster than you can type it.

Voice to text FAQ

Is this live dictation?

No. You record first, and the text appears after you stop. For notes and interviews this gives better accuracy than typing as you speak.

The browser does not allow the microphone. What do I do?

Open the site settings in your browser and allow the microphone for speechgen.io, then reload the page. Or record on your phone and upload the file.

How long can a recording be?

Up to 3 hours. You can pause and resume as many times as you need.

Where is my recording saved?

In your files, together with the transcript. With an account it is kept for 90 days; without an account — for 1 day.

How much does it cost?

Paid with credits from your SpeechGen balance: 139 credits per minute of audio for most models, 278 for Fast. The price is shown before you start.
