FAQ
Does speeding up change the pitch?
No — it changes tempo; for pitch use the Pitch effect.
What speed range is supported?
From 0.3x up to 2x, set with one slider.
Which speeds keep speech natural?
Moderate changes around 0.7x to 1.5x sound the most natural; bigger slow-downs turn soft and dreamy.
Supported Formats
Input: audio/video. Output: MP3, WAV, OGG, FLAC, M4A, MP4.
What the speed tool does
It changes how fast the audio plays while clean resampling and a limiter keep it clear. Speed up to tighten pacing, or slow down so every word and note is easy to follow.
Speed vs pitch
This tool changes tempo only, so the overall tone stays close to the original. To make a voice higher or lower without changing how fast it plays, use the Pitch effect instead.
Tips
- Moderate changes (0.7×–1.5×) keep speech the most natural.
- Big slow-downs sound softer and dreamier — that is expected.
- Need a higher or lower voice instead? Use the Pitch tool.
How the speed effect is made
No AI — just a short, classic DSP chain applied to your audio. Here's the recipe:
