  • How is this different from the Robot effect?

    Robot adds a harsh mechanical buzz on top of your voice. The vocoder is musical — a synthesizer takes over the tone while your words stay on top.

  • Will my words stay understandable?

    Yes — a dedicated path keeps consonants clear. At maximum strength, clear and unhurried speech works best.

  • What does the strength slider change?

    The balance between your natural voice and the synth. Maximum is a pure vocoder sound; lower values mix the original voice back in.

What the vocoder effect does

A vocoder merges your voice with a synthesizer. The synth provides the tone, your voice provides the words and rhythm — together they make the electronic “singing speech” that music has used for decades.

From a light touch to a full synth voice

At low strength it is a light electronic glow over natural speech. Push it higher and the natural layer fades, until only the pure synthesizer voice remains.
